For more than 30,000 years, ever since the cave paintings, man has depicted animals in their setting with love, fear or admiration. From the invitation: Politikens Gallery is pleased to present the new exhibition created by Pernille Kløvedal Helweg. For more than 30,000 years, ever since the cave paintings, man has depicted animals in their setting with love, fear or admiration. WHALE SIGNS is not a picture of a whale, but a picture made with a whale and its encounter with impregnated copper plates. Where other representations can fix an animal’s form or outline, Pernille Kløvedal Helweg wishes instead to retain its body, its movement and the impressions these movements have left.
